Bali, the paradise of Indonesia!
Bali is a province of Indonesia and is the Western-most island of the Lesser Sunda islands region. With tranquil temples and beautiful beaches, “towering and active volcanoes wrapped in deep green canopies,” adventurous recreational activities, “rice terraces and jungles,” “highly advanced arts such as traditional and modern dance, sculptures, paintings, metalworks and music,”” Bali is a major tourist attraction since the 1980s and tourism makes up 80% of its economy.
In March 2017, Travel advisor named Bali as, “the world’s top destination in its Traveller’s Choice Award and it is a famous UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Bali, being a part of the coral triangle, has the largest maritime biodiversity consisting of fish and turtles with over 500 reef-building coral species which is shockingly seven times higher than that of the Caribbean!
Bali is known in many ways: a utopia, heaven, Elysium, paradise, nirvana, and many more… Bali is my dream destination as it has everything, I ever want in a tourist destination. Beautiful landscapes, adventurous ventures, beautiful beachfront resorts, relaxing spa treatments, native cuisine(that use a variety of spices, blended with vegetables, fresh meat and fish to make dishes such as Satay, Nasi goreng, Soto ayam and ikan bakar) a sunny climate, delightful tourist destinations such as temples and volcanoes, Bali, in itself is a package that has it all.
According to the website in.hotels.com, if you want the complete amazing Bali experience you MUST visit and see the following places, arts, and displays:
Temples
Temples such as Tanah Lot, the iconic rock-top temple of Bali facing the open sea, Uluwatu, an important Bali temple that is positioned on the tall cliff edge and Besakih, “the mother temple of Bali,” found on the south-western slope of mount Agung, the tallest mountain of Bali, are must-visit places for beautiful sceneries, excellent architecture and is a place to truly discover the culture of Bali.
Areas such as Tegallalang rice terraces, Ubud monkey forest, the Kintamani mountain village, Bali Safari and Marine Park, Jatiluwih rice terraces, etc are great places for trekking, beautiful sceneries, sightseeing and are great places for discovering the cultures of Bali.
Activities such as surfing, scuba diving, paragliding, jet ski, flyboarding, river rafting, sunset dining on the beaches, partying in Kuta, Legian, and Seminyak and exploration of Bali beaches, are a must do in Bali and I believe doing such recreational activities as they are what truly complete the amazing Bali experience!
In conclusion, I would like to say that Bali is the destination, I believe has it all and is a perfect tourist destination which I dream and aspire to visit in the future as my dream destination of all time!!!

Have you ever wondered why people march on the roads and say” don’t cut trees! don’t use plastic…”? Well these people are protesting about saving the environment, it’s something they care highly about and they are right, we must not use plastic or at least a certain type of plastic, but we’ll get to that in a minute.
There is an invisible dome in the atmosphere called the Ozone layer. This dome is like a banket on the Earth, only this blanket doesn’t make the Earth feel warm, it makes sure that very little of the sun’s powerful rays hits the Earth and that heat is more than enough for us. But in recent events, the heat from factories, the burning of fossil fuels, etc, are creating holes in the Ozone layer, this process is called Global Warming. Global Warming is one of the many factors creating climate change. Now, what is Climate Change? climate change’s name actually defines what it means, it is the rise in average temperature on Earth, or in simpler words, it is when the temperature becomes higher and… changes. This may not seem like the worst situation at the moment (considering the COVID-19 situation) It was a very serious situation but …Let me tell you a very short story.
Once Upon a time Earth found that humans were creating a Dustbin out of her, they were throwing their trash out on the roads and were making the seas and oceans very dirty, there was also too much pollution in the air, one day after so much toleration the Earth whispered to the humans ‘please don't dirty the earth, your future depends on it ‘.
But the humans were too busy in their own business that they did not hear what she had to say, after a few years Earth decided to give it another shot she said a little bit louder than the last time ‘please don't dirty the earth, your future depends on it’. But the humans were still too busy in their own business that they did not hear what she said. after another 3 years earth decided to give it a last chance, if the humans did not listen this time, she would bring something bad to their lives. She shouted loudly ‘Please don't dirty the earth your future depends on it!’.
But the humans were too ignorant to see it, very few people heard it and even those people had no power to do anything. ’Nobody heard it’. she decided so she got ready. she got ready for 3 years and finally it was ready she had created a fool proof plan and hoped this would work. She created a new virus called COVID-19. She put it in China and blamed it on them(mostly not because people believe that they got it by eating insects and things ,and those things are all part of mother nature). While everybody was in lockdown and quarantine, she helped all the plants trees etc.to heal themselves. But by the time the vaccine of the COVID-19 comes out everything will be bad again there will still be pollution smoke and burning of fossil fuels, now that everybody is going out and travelling again. Ice is melting! Seas are rising! Earth is overheated!
I am Earth,
I am your home
But you destroy
My skin and bone
But I forgive
And I forget
I let you live
But I regret.
Do you realise I am your only hope So don't stand around an mope I need saving, It's up to you, This is what you need to do
no more plastic, no more waste, because I am fading at a fast pace I need love, I need care, because you are polluting my air.
Humans have done so bad in the test of life, yet we don’t feel guilty. Animals are about lose their homes and pay for our doings. This is not right.
Help me, help all the people who care for Earth save our homeland.

Habitats destroyed and blazes spread, Oh yes, we can call this a code red. They call 2020 ‘the year that could have been’, The Covid – 19 pandemic took over the scene. The virus spread all over the globe, Who knew this would happen because of a microbe. Now we are all lazing around in our own homes, Praying that we don’t catch the virus that roams. They call 2020 ‘the year that could have been’, The Olympics got cancelled, and we were so keen. Because it was not safe for anyone, People at home didn’t get to have fun. Everyone is watching boring old shows, And soon enough they are going to doze. They call 2020 ‘the year that could have been’, And a new type of school has started for the teens. Stuck in our homes during lockdown time, We thought education wasn’t at its prime. But with all the new-age technology, Students are still studying math and biology. They call 2020 ‘the year that could have been’, ‘Black lives matter’ was on all the screens. Posters and riots and protests on the road, Equality matters all of them showed The time was not easy, and many died, But mainly people never lost their pride. They call 2020 ‘the year that could have been’, We know the future is going to be more clean. There have been a few bad things this year, And if all of this ends, we will surely cheer. This year has changed our lives in many ways, But also taught us to cherish the rest of our days. By, Niranjana Arun, Grade 7, EJPN
