Children and food—what a natural combination! Combining fun and function, using food as your teaching tool can really get little ones excited about learning. Although it may contradict the popular mealtime mantra to “quit playing with your food,” teaching children can really be fulfilled and effective. This was exactly what grade I C did when they learnt about the various phases of the moon by making their own Oreo Cookie moons. Have your moon and lick it too!!
Hmm.. what Oreolicious phases of the moon …. see it yourself.
Very few opportunities in the average student life provide such exposure and realistic outlook towards the competitive nature of real life in such a short span of time as competitions provide. Ekya school recognises the importance of organising competitions for a well-rounded education. Therefore, the emphasis is on a holistic education that extends beyond the classroom. Keeping this in view the school had recently organised Hindi poem recitation for grades I-IV and Fireless Cooking for grades V-X. The prize winners of these competitions were awarded certificates by our Vice Principal, Mrs. Usha PremKumar. Here is a glimpse of the proud winners of the two competitions.
