Learning Area Purpose

The Grade 11 and 12 Design and Innovation Program is a skill-based elective. It aims to introduce ideas, methodologies, principles, and skills that comprise a knowledge base important to all design disciplines. These essential concepts foster a multidisciplinary design experience and equip students with a foundation and fundamentals of skills in design.

The program offers a comprehensive range of skills and knowledge required for design careers. The program provides a pathway to design-based qualifications, including graphic design, visual merchandising, digital design, and screen and performing arts.
