Longing for It

Trapped inside my house I sit,
Watching, cleaning, reading, writing. Longing to
go out for a bit.

Parents are working,
Newsagents are reporting,
Doctors are healing,
People are trying to get fit
Yet I’m just longing to go out for a bit.

The world is under tension,
Masks, sanitizers, soaps, vaccination People
are longing for it
But all I’m longing for is to go out for a bit.

A bit of fresh air,
A bit of exercise,
A bit of something outside
Oh! How I’m longing for it.

But this too shall pass
Like stormy clouds
Because after every thunderstorm
There is a rainbow, And I’m
waiting, Longing for it.
