Christmas brings cheer and love and we celebrated it with the same fervor, spreading the message of love and joy among our children. Our Montessori children did a series of activities throughout December in which they actively participated in making little handmade Christmas Crafts such as season greetings, decorated their classroom, baked delicious cookies and filled the classroom with tantalizing aroma and distributed it to all teachers at school. What’s Christmas without some singing? Throughout December, children practiced a few carols in their classrooms. It was a vibrant and colorful month for us all.
Christmas joy and enthusiasm can be seen not only in the classroom but also in the courtyard and corridors of Ekya School, Byrathi with colorful streamers, reindeer, stars, wreath, bubbles, bells and of course Santa Claus! Students decided how their classroom would look like and made it a warm place with their creative ideas such as creating miniature Christmas trees with lots of gifts around it wrapped by them.
Christmas celebrations included a session on ‘innovative ways to wrap gifts’ and students took the beautifully wrapped presents home with them. And finally, students and teachers organised a potluck lunch on the last working day.
They brought their favourite food to share with their friends and this was followed by carol singing and some special games that the teachers had planned for the students. Everyone had a blast!
