At Ekya, children are encouraged to be thinkers, doers and change makers. So in addition to living the lesson in their learning environments, they participate in various co-curricular and extracurricular opportunities. These include representing the Ekya colours at various inter-school competitions – a mix of sports, literary events, theatre, music, and art. Here are some of our success stories from across the calendar.

 

Taekwondo Champion

Ms. Khwaish Panwar, our young star from Ekya School BTM Layout has made the nation proud by winning a GOLD medal for India at the Grade 1 World Taekwondo Championship that was held in Hyderabad from 11-16th June 2019.

She has also recently won 2 GOLDS in the South and West Zonal ITF Taekwondo Championships held at Mysuru between 19-21st July 2019.

Inter-school swimming competition

Students from Ekya School, BTM Layout made us proud by winning the Interschool swimming competition held at Dev-In International School.

Nikhita Chandramouli won a bronze medal in the 25 metres Butterfly stroke event.

Adithya Prasad G of Grade 8 bagged a Gold medal in the 25 metres Freestyle event.

Aisiri Haritsa won two silver medals in the Freestyle and Backstroke 50 metres events.

 

Volksfiesta 2019

Ekya School ITPL participated in various competitions at Volksfiesta 2019. Our students excelled in Nukkad Natak, Action Quest, Smart Moves, Comic Strip Making, Dabang debonair, design hackathon- Product Design, Danspiration, Football, and Basketball boys.

D-MUN

Grade 11 and 12 students of Ekya School ITPL bagged the DMUN- Best Delegation Award at Volksfiesta.

Niyathi Meghana won the Outstanding Delegate Award, Pratyoosh Venkatraj won the Honourable Delegate Award, and Atharva Chandra received Special Mention.

 

VIVUM 2019

At VIVUM 19, our students from Ekya School ITPL gave an outstanding performance in Gully Cricket, Iced Street Challenge, and Dance Off.

We lifted the winner’s trophy in the Cricket Match. Mithul Bhat of grade 11 received an award of ‘The Most Valuable Player.’

At the Iced Street Challenge, the first position was bagged by Our Head Boy Kiran Natarajan.

Rushil Kolipaka reached the final round in Dance off.

 

 

KISA (Karnataka ICSE Schools Association) Competitions

Vaibhav Kini of Grade 8 from Ekya School JP Nagar secured third place in the Table Tennis Tournament (under 14 category). He will also represent the state at the National Level.

 

KISA (Karnataka ICSE Schools Association) - Declamation Competition

Jahnavi Rajesh of Grade 10, Ekya School JP Nagar won the first place in the KISA declamation competition at KISA – UTSAV, Karnataka.

Maya Prashanth of Grade 9, Ekya School JP Nagar secured the third place in the same competition

 

WGS Fest- Wings Of Fire-2019

Students of Grade 11 and 12, Ekya School ITPL won a Runner Up position at the WGS Fest- Wings Of Fire-2019, an Inter-School competition on business plan presentation. Members of Team Ekya were Atharva Chandra, Grade 11, Anirudh Kudavelly Grade 11, Niyathi M Devalapalli Grade 12 and Kiran Natarajan Grade 12.

The students were given a product and they had to prepare a business plan on spot and present it before the judges. The product given to our students was a Posture Corrector. Our students named their product as Paralign and spoke about the company’s marketing strategy, mission, vision and the features of the product. Our students gave an outstanding presentation using PowerPoint.

 

Vistas 2019 Quiz Competition

The Junior team from Ekya School JP Nagar won the Runner-Up position at the 27th edition of Vistas 2019 Quiz Competition conducted by Innisfree House School. The competition witnessed the participation from more than 20 schools of Bangalore.

First Place in Bebras India Challenge

Rishikesh Kanakatte Muralimohan, Grade 4 of Ekya School JP Nagar secured first place in the 2018 Bebras India Challenge. The 2018 Bebras India Challenge was held from 19th – 30th November for age groups 8-18 years.

The Bebras 2018 India Challenge had the participation of 1,37,081 students from 380 schools across 12 states of India. Bebras is an international student Computational Thinking Challenge organized in over 40 countries, designed to get students all over the world excited about computing. The Bebras challenges are made up of a set of short problems called Bebras tasks. The tasks are fun, engaging and require logical thinking and can be solved without prior knowledge of computational thinking.

 

Ekya Stands Tall at Open National Karate Championship

Students of Ekya School ITPL triumph at Open National Karate Championship held recently at Koramangala Indoor Stadium, Bangalore. In a tournament with over 1500 participants, our students gave their best and secured wins in various categories. Here are our champions under the guidance and coaching of Karate Instructor, Sensei Kashyapa:

Manitha Reddy – Grade 6, Likhita E H – Grade 6, and Deeksha – grade G secured first place

Arnav Ghosh – Grade 2, Samarth Ghosh- Grade 2, and Darsh Porwal – Grade 2 secured second place

Sohan B – Grade 8 secured third place.

 

First Place at the MaRRS International Math Bee Championship

Skanda P, Grade 7 student of Ekya School JP Nagar secured First Place at the MaRRS International Math Bee Championship held in December 2018 at Dhruv Global School, Pune. He was awarded a cheque of Rs 5000 along with the trophy and certificate. Students from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerela, Gujrat, Maharashtra, Dubai, Qatar, and Sharjah participated in the competition.

 

First Runner-up at the ASISC National Literary Competition

After bagging the 1st place in the Karnataka ICSE Schools Association Literary Debate event in Bangalore, Trishikha Kiran Rao of Grade 10 and Prasidh Pradeep of Grade 9 of Ekya School JP Nagar, secured the 1st runner-up in the National Level Debate event at the Association of Schools for the Indian School Certificate National Literary Events, organized in Hyderabad.

 

Rolling Back the Years and Winning

Students of Ekya School ITPL – Raghu Ranganathan, Kevin Mahesh and Gaurav Goverdhan did Ekya
proud by winning the ‘Retrospective Coding’ event at DPS East. They had to create clones of specific
retro games and also design their own games – each game carrying a certain set of points. Not far from the event, Abhik S and Karthika S of Grade 12 finished as runners-up in the Literary Quiz competition at DPS East.

 

Write, Recite and Win

Shreya Siddharth of Grade VI, Ekya School JP Nagar secured 2nd place in the ‘Write and Recite’ competition at the Mirambika School for New Age event.

 

Close finish at 'Bring a Smile Foundation' Football Tournament

Grade 11 students of Ekya ITPL finished as runners-up position at the ‘Bring a Smile Foundation’ Football Tournament, held at VeloCT, Sarjapur Road.

The winning line-up includes Trishank M,  Abhay Warrier, Adarsh Kaviraj, Dhruv Menon, Tanay Singh, Samarth B, and Mukund Narayan.

 

First place at the 3rd Annual Candor Spell Bee

Ekya BTM Layout‘s first interschool participation brought home first place at the 3rd Annual Candor Spell Bee competition. It is a proud moment for our youngest campus, as our students bagged first and second position in Category 1 of the event, after an enthralling performance. With the preliminary rounds held at the school, a group of seven students from Grades 1 to 6 represented Ekya, stealing the show at the finale.

 

Runner-ups at Orchard Interschool Throwball Tournament

Finishing as runner-ups at the Orchard Interschool Throwball tournament, the Ekya JP Nagar Girls Throwball team has done us proud. Ms. Sharvari Ramesh, from the school team, was adjudged ‘The Best Player’ of the competition.

 

Adjudged as Best Bowler

Pritish Javeria made us proud by being declared the ‘Best Bowler’ at the Inchara Cup 2017, also adjudged as the Man of the Match.

 

Winning Junior Literature Festivals

Saanvi Kulkarni of Grade V bagged first place in the ‘Grammar Galore’ and Krish Rajesh Iyengar of Grade III came in second in the ‘Bingo with a Twist’ at the inter-school fest – One Stop English Juniors Festival of English Literature.

 

Ekya at The Vistas 2018

Representing the Ekya colours at The Vistas 2018, an inter-school literary competition hosted by Innisfree House School, students from Ekya JP Nagar did us proud by securing winning positions in a number of events:

Saanvi Kulkarni of Grade VI stood second in English Creative Writing.

Rohith Maiyya of Grade V stood second in English Debate Juniors.

Misha Raichandani of Grade VII stood third in English Elocution Seniors.
