Sanskrit is the language of mantra, of spiritually empowered sounds. Its usage is to bring our minds back to the consciousness and power of mantra. Mantra is not just concerned with sound but with meaning. It is the basis for Indian epic verse, and may be considered the Indian verse form par excellence, occurring, as it does, far more frequently than any other meter in classical Sanskrit poetry. The shloka is treated as a couplet.
At Ekya Early Years, JP Nagar children had a shloka/prayer recitation activity where children recited simple and meaningful shlokas.
