Listening is the gateway to understanding and communicating and, therefore, is absolutely critical for language learners. If students are unable to listen carefully, they will miss out on important interactions both inside and outside the classroom.
Learning to listen carefully can build students’ ability and confidence in dealing with real-life situations, where they need to focus on both listening and speaking. Developing listening skills is a fun way of getting students to concentrate more and to remember information.
The students of Ekya Early Years, JP Nagar participated in a ‘Listen and Draw’ competition where step-by-step instructions were given to students to arrive at the picture the teacher had in mind for them. The much-awaited results of the competition is as follows:

Good food, a bunch of friends, hills for trekking, an adrenaline rush from adventure activities, and music to tango and soothe the soul. What more do you require to unwind and relax?
Students of Grade IV-X of Ekya School, JP Nagar experienced all this and more during the picnic organised for them at RD’s Nature Retreat in Jigani on the 5th of February.
Students enjoyed a sumptuous breakfast and then went for trekking followed by several adventure activities post lunch. This included zip lining, walking the Burma Bridge and other rope games. The students thoroughly enjoyed their day out. Here are some happy moments from the trip...
