Children of Ekya School, JP Nagar visited the Girias Children’s Explorium recently.
The explorium was divided into six main sections: Explore, Build, Splash, Invent, Live and Create. There were also wooden yardsticks for budding architects to create blueprints of buildings.
The kids learnt to control water-generated energy; the tiny tots enjoyed floating ducks on the waterway, flopping their feet in the fountains, and had their five minutes of fame under the ‘Splash Bucket’.
At ‘Invent’, the fertile little minds are encouraged to experiment with scientific theories. The most interesting parts of this section are the ‘Gravity Wall’ and ‘Invent Your Own Car’. Kids climbed a confusing but safe structure to figure their way up, to be rewarded by a view of the night sky complete with twinkling stars.
The ‘Live’ section is a make-believe world that includes a cafe, kitchen, supermarket, a reading nook and a mud pit. ‘Create’ attracted the artistic ones. A beautiful glass room has been dedicated to those who wish to use paints on glass.
Students were served sandwiches and juice for lunch. The memories of this much-awaited picnic will last forever.
Daiwik Dubey, the swimming star of Ekya JP Nagar, has proved himself again! His consistent and unyielding efforts have led him to bag three medals at the State Level Aquatic Competition held on 13 January 2016 by the Karnataka State Swimming Association.
He has won gold, silver and bronze medals in the 50 metres backstroke, 50 metres breaststroke and 50 metres freestyle categories respectively.
