Design Thinking Challenge
The annual Design Thinking Challenge is an opportunity for the Ekya community to immerse themselves in a socially relevant problem. Independent student teams tackle human-centered challenges such as ‘How might we better integrate the elderly into Bangalore’s society?’ and ‘How might we solve the garbage problem in Bangalore to improve the lives of citizens? Students are encouraged to think critically, identify insights, build on each other’s ideas and learn from failure. With Design Thinking, we aim to bring in the next generation of innovative leaders and problem solvers who are prepared to tackle the challenges of the future.
Conducted by Inoyise, the Robotics Program gives students an insight into the world of robotics, automation, and engineering. The program gives students hands-on exposure to the practical usage of the physics and engineering that they study. Through immersive learning experiences, students hone their skills of thinking creatively, learning important scientific concepts, and learning visually.
The Aeromodelling course at Ekya Schools is designed to teach our students how to build and fly glider type aero-models, offered in three-course levels: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. As beginners, students will be introduced to the overview and scope of Aeromodelling, getting hands-on experience in building models with various materials and exploring the theory of flight and the technology behind it.
Students then graduate to more complex airplanes with engines and motors in the Intermediate course, also being introduced to the basics of drones and the technology that runs them. The advanced course enables students to build and fly their own radio controlled (RC) models. This being a government restricted field of operation, the elaborate practical training will be based on government directions on the subject from time to time.
